Frozen Vegetables - Healthy or Not

One of the most common questions I get asked is are frozen vegetables healthy or not? I'm glad to say that the answer is yes, frozen vegetables are healthy to consume on a regular basis.

Frozen vegetables obviously have a much longer shelf life compared to fresh vegetables. They can last months if stored properly in the freezer which makes it a lot more convenient for many people because they are often readily available in the house.

Frozen vegetables are quick and easy to cook and add to meals which makes it a key ingredient to keep in the freezer. One of the common delusions that people have is that frozen vegetables lose most of their nutritional value, but this is not the case. In fact frozen vegetables usually contain the same amount of nutrients and have as many benefits as fresh vegetables.

So if you are one who often skips the vegetables because you haven't had time to buy fresh vegetables or decide not to buy them because fresh vegetables go off quite quickly, then opt for frozen vegetables. They are nutritious, convenient, quick to make and have a longer shelf life.

Decide for yourself what vegetables suit your lifestyle best. If you are cooking for one and find that fresh vegetables are often going off because you don't eat them fast enough, then frozen vegetables are probably the right choice for you.

You must decide which vegetables you would like to buy, fresh or frozen, but make sure you aim for four cups of vegetables per day.

So enjoy your veggies, your body will thank you for it!
