I know most of the world’s population is feeling uncertain, anxious and stressed due to the current pandemic. This is not a time to be focusing on following strict diets and putting extra stress on yourself by worrying about your weight. My tip for you is to cut yourself some slack and do what you need to do to feel good.
Your mental health is extremely important to focus on at the moment but healthy eating, physical activity, playing games, colouring in, painting, talking on the phone or video calling friends and family, yoga, Pilates, cooking and baking are just a couple of things that I have been trying to do during this difficult time. Social media time is also on the increase for most individuals as everyone is trying to keep up to date with what is happening around the world, but social media can also put a lot of extra stress and pressure on individuals. There are so many posts going around on Instagram and Facebook recommending us to form new habits and develop new skills during this time, which can put extra stress on individuals. I believe that now is the time to focus on yourself, your mental health and the last thing that you should be worrying about during this time is whether or not you are going to form a new habit or skill or what the scale is going to say by the end of this pandemic.
If you can spend a bit of time in the kitchen cooking healthy meals and doing a bit of exercise regularly it will definitely be beneficial for you as physical activity and healthy eating both boost the immune system and can improve your mental wellbeing. Nutrient rich foods will ensure that you are getting in a variety of important vitamins and minerals to boost your immune system, which will be useful during this pandemic but also great to prevent the common cold or flu that is likely with the change of seasons.
Keep safe, keep healthy and remember to do what you love.
